Introduction to Ferritic Stainless Steel

Ferritic stainless steel is a stainless steel with chromium as the main alloying element, and compared to austenitic grades, it has lower nickel content making it more economical, and has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking.

We handle various ferritic stainless steel products and provide optimal materials that meet our customers' diverse requirements.

We can supply in various forms such as plates, bars, pipes, and fittings, and provide services across a wider range of industries with material responsiveness and technical reliability that match your process conditions.

430 (UNS: S43000)
Typical Chemical Composition & Properties Typical
Chemical Composition
Tensile Strength Yield Strength Elongation Hardness* Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN)
16Cr 450 205 22 183HB <17
Grade Description

A representative ferritic stainless steel with affordable price and excellent oxidation resistance and formability. It has almost no nickel, making it highly economical, and is magnetic with the ability to increase strength through cold working.

Main Applications

Home appliance exteriors, oven components, interior decorations, automotive moldings, exhaust covers, etc.

436L (UNS: S43600)
Typical Chemical Composition & Properties Typical
Chemical Composition
Tensile Strength Yield Strength Elongation Hardness* Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN)
16Cr - 0.75Mo - 0.08C* - 0.8Nb* 538 441 32 185HB <20
Grade Description

A grade with improved corrosion resistance, formability, and weldability compared to 430 through Mo addition and low-carbon design. It is strong in chloride environments and maintains stability even in thermal cycling environments.

Main Applications

Exhaust pipes, manifolds, heat exchanger tubes, industrial heat treatment components, etc.

439 (UNS: S43035)
Typical Chemical Composition & Properties Typical
Chemical Composition
Tensile Strength Yield Strength Elongation Hardness* Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN)
16Cr - 0.8Ti - 0.05C* 438 263 25 150HB <17
Grade Description

A ferritic grade stabilized with Ti or Nb, with improved corrosion resistance, weldability, and intergranular corrosion resistance compared to 430. It has almost no Ni, making it economical, and has excellent microstructural stability after welding.

Main Applications

Automotive exhaust systems, boiler and heat exchanger tubes, industrial kitchen equipment, etc.
